Oxygen Analyzer
MOCON’s Op Tech – O Platinum is an
2
oxygen (O ) analyzer using optical fluores-
2
cence technology. The platinum chemis-
try used in the Op Tech – O Platinum will
2
“fluoresce” or give off light in an amount
which is directly related to the amount
of oxygen present. This fluorescence can
then be read optically making it ideal for
non-destructive permeation analysis,
headspace and dissolved oxygen analysis
as well as leak determination in flexible
and rigid packaging. For non-destructive
permeation analysis, a small platinum-based “spot” encased in a substrate is
inserted into a package, either in the package headspace or in liquid in the case of a
liquid based product. Change in oxygen
due to permeation is then read externally
over time through a sealed package using
a handheld optical reader. For headspace
and dissolved oxygen analysis, the analyzer
employs an invasive probe coated with the
platinum chemistry making the system
ideal for measuring oxygen in products
with very small headspace or the dissolved
oxygen in liquid based products. MOCON

High Pressure Fluid Valves
The EH 40 Series of valves from Clark-Cooper Div. of Magnatrol Valve Corp. are used to
control the flow of high pressure air, water,
natural gas, hydrogen, nitrogen and other
gases or light liquids. Options include hydrogen service, normally open-energize to
close, viton seals, and oxygen
clean. Maximum operating pressures: AC voltage
(STD): 7,500 psi (g); AC voltage (XP): 10,000 psi (g); DC
voltage (STD): 3,500 PSIG
DC voltage (XP): 5,000 PSIG.

Mass Flow Meter
The ST98HT mass flow meter from Fluid
Components International (FCI) can process
air/gas temperatures up to 850°F (454°C)
while providing flow measurement with
repeatability. The multi-function ST98HT
flow meter measures air/gas mass flow rate,
totalized flow and is an insertion-style flow
meter suitable for pipe sizes from 2.5 inches
to 120 inches (63 mm to 3048 mm). This
meter is designed with a direct mass flow
sensing element that is accurate to ±1% of
reading, plus ±0.5% of full scale, and repeatability of ±0.5% of reading. It operates over
a broad flow range from 0.75 to 600 SFPS
(0, 21 to 172 NMPS) with a turndown ratio up
to 100:1. The transmitter can be remotely
mounted up to 1000 feet (350 m) away.

H S Gas Detector
2
The S4000TH hydrogen sulfide gas
detector from General Monitors features
the HART® communication protocol for
field communications. HART provides
two-way digital communication without
disturbing the integrity of the 4-20 mA
analog output. HART permits several variables, parameters, device configuration,
and device diagnostics to be transmitted
digitally at the same time as the analog
signal. The S4000TH H S gas detector
2
is suitable for use in SIL 3 systems and
approved by CSA and FM. The detector
monitors H S gas in ppm and provides
2
status indication and alarm outputs. Gen-
