Service to Flow Community
Bios International marked 20
years of serving the gas flow
community in January 2011.
BIOS was founded in 1991 by
CEO Harvey Padden and Scott
Calvert, President of Bios.
Padden had spent years developing prior to that, developing
the DryCal® dry-piston prover,
with the aim of producing calibrators that were more accurate, more reliable and easier

Training Center
Servomex has upgraded
its facilities at the company’s
American Business Center in
Sugar Land, Texas. New class-
room facilities have been
opened for training for use of
products including the SER-
VOTOUGH Laser cross-stack
monitor, SERVOPRO MultiEx-
act multigas analyzer and the
SERVOTOUGH Oxy oxygen
analyzer. The training room
is stocked with a full range of
Servomex analyzers, including
training units which can be dis-
assembled so customers can
view and understand the tech-
nologies inside. Operational
analyzers are also available
that are used for sales train-
ing for Servomex’s distributor

Brooks Instrument Opens
New Cleanroom
Brooks Instrument, a manufacturer of advanced flow,

opened the doors to its new
cleanroom manufacturing
facility with a ribbon-cutting
ceremony at its headquarters
in Hatfield, Pa. The new Class
100 cleanroom will serve primarily as the production area

Gas Innovations Plans
Expansion
Gas Innovations, an inde-
pendent gases wholesaler and
provider of equipment and ser-
vices to industrial gas producers
and distributors, announced the
purchase of four acres adjoining
the firm’s La Porte, TX headquar-
ters. The acquisition doubles
the size of Gas Innovations’
facilities strategically located
at the mouth of the Houston
ship channel. Expansion plans
include additional high pres-
sure filling of hydrocarbons and
carbon monoxide, tube trailer
storage, cryogenic storage of
methane or liquefied natural
gas (LNG), and increased activ-
ity of hydrogen chloride cylinder

Gasco Adds QA Manager,
Expands Facility
Gasco Affiliates, LLC, a
producer of precision cali-
bration gas, has announced
the appointment of a new
quality assurance manager
and further expansion of its
26,000-square-foot produc-
tion facility, warehouse and
corporate offices. Bill Miller, a
23-year quality control man-
agement veteran, has been
named quality assurance
manager. Also, Gasco has
completed a 4,100-square-
foot expansion of its ware-
house facilities in Oldsmar, Fla.
The new addition will house
Gasco’s quality assurance

MOCON Installs
Permeation Units
MOCON has installed
oxygen and water vapor permeation units in a Lhasa, Tibet
pharmaceutical testing laboratory. Located at 11,450 feet
(3490 meters), the two-mile
plus, above sea-level location,
represents MOCON’s highest
altitude installation. The units
will be used to measure package permeation for traditional
Tibetan herbal remedies and
conventional pharmaceuticals.

Engineering Manager
