Praxair Signs Contract
with EVRAZ in Russia
(Danbury, ConneCtiCut,
uSa) Praxair Rus, a subsidiary
of Praxair, Inc. has entered into
a contract to supply oxygen,
nitrogen and argon to NTMK,
a division of the EVRAZ Group,
a global steel company with its
main steel production facilities
in Russia. Praxair will build new,
energy-efficient air separation
plants and supply more than
3,000 tons per day of industrial
gases to NTMK in Nizhniy Tagil,
the center of the industrial
region of Sverdlovsk in central
Russia. The new plants are
scheduled to start up in late
2013 and will replace older air
separation plants and produce
liquid products for the local

Pfeiffer Vacuum Closes
Acquisition of Adixen
(aSSlar, Germany) Pfeiffer
Vacuum Technology AG closed
the acquisition of Alcatel-Lucent’s Vacuum Technology
Unit “Adixen”. The company
had announced the intention
to purchase Adixen on November 3, 2010. The purchase price
totals approximately € 200 million on a debt/cash-free basis.
In order to finance the deal,
Pfeiffer Vacuum had generated
about € 112 million through a
capital increase and sale of
treasury shares on November
18. The remaining part of the
purchase price was funded

Air Products to Supply
Nitrogen and Bulk Gases
to Taiwan Wafer Fab

that its subsidiary in Taiwan, Air
Products San Fu Co. Ltd., has
signed a letter of intent (LOI)
with United Microelectronics
Corporation (UMC) to provide
nitrogen and bulk gases to its
new Fab 12 Phase Three and
Phase Four in the Tainan Science Industrial Park (TSIP). Air
Products will supply nitrogen
to UMC’s new 300mm wafer
fab via its extended pipeline

Air Liquide Commissions
ADSUs in Poland
(PariS, FranCe) Air Liquide
announces the commissioning
of two air separation units in
Poland, both of the standardized YangO2 type, located in
Zakłady Azotowe in Puławy. The
new air separation units are the
biggest liquid and gas source
in Central and Eastern Poland,
with an aggregate production capacity of around 1,700
tonnes per day. This investment
is included in the €100 million
overall investment in Poland
announced in June 2010. The
