Linde Opens Gas Plant at BOE
(MUNICH, GERMANY) Linde LienHwa (LLH),
The Linde Group’s joint venture with LienHwa
Mi TAC Group of Taiwan, today announced a
further strengthening of its commitment to the
TFT-LCD industry in China with the opening of
an ultra-high purity gas plant at BOE Technology
Group Co. Ltd’s (BOE) latest 8. 5 generation TFT-LCD manufacturing facility in the Beijing Development Authority. The new facility developed by
LLH consists of an installation of the plant’s bulk
gases supply systems, including on-site nitrogen
plants one of which will be the SPECTRA-N 30,000
series ultra-high purity nitrogen generator. This
allows the supply of 30,000Nm3/hour of nitrogen
via an underground pipeline. LLH has also constructed high capacity liquid nitrogen storage
tanks and storage and supply systems for other
gases on the site, including oxygen, hydrogen
and argon. Linde www.linde.com

Air Products Project to Fuel
London Taxis
(LONDON, UK) A new project will soon see 15
hydrogen-powered London black-cabs and five
hydrogen-powered Suzuki Bergmann scooters
carrying passengers around the capital. Funded
by the Fuel Cells & Hydrogen Joint Undertaking, the Hy TEC project (Hydrogen Transport
for European Cities), which is in part funded by
the Fuel Cells & Hydrogen Joint Undertaking
(FCH JU), will also see the installation of an Air
Products hydrogen fuelling station in London.
This new station will connect up with the two
fuelling stations already in operation in the city
supporting London’s hydrogen bus fleet, creating an infrastructure network powering hydrogen fuel cell vehicles across the capital, some in

Messer Supplies Nitrogen at Lanxess
(KREFELD, GERMANY) Messer is installing a
reactor cooling unit at LANXESS Deutschland AG.
The Cryocontrol unit, which uses cryogenic liquid
nitrogen as a coolant, will be used for rubber-related research and development purposes at
the Dormagen site. The start-up of this unit provides Messer with a new reference in the field of
reactor cooling. In pharmaceutical and chemical
production very low process temperatures are
often required in reactors. The Cryocontrol process uses cryogenic liquid nitrogen to produce
these low temperatures. Messer www.messer-
